Lineage is currently searching for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our growing team!

As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you are responsible for training, mentoring, establishing, implementing and maintaining an environment of Lean within our Regional Distribution Center. In many ways, you act as an internal evangelist, promoting change, providing direction and architecting solutions where necessary.  You will provide the overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of Lean systems infrastructure in all phases of the service center operations.

You are a critical member of the leadership team and work closely with the General Manager to ensure maximum results by creating an environment of predictability, accountability, efficiency and sustainability. Your experience has taught you how to implement order out of chaos.  Your strong communications skills allow you to gain trust and buy-in at every level, creating a culture of Lean.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines requirements for operations and ensures the implementation of Continuous Improvement strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed business requirements & customer expectations.
  • Applies broad knowledge to act as a key contributor on complex or critical assignments.
  • Ensures developmentally productive environment for all employees. Acts as an advisor/coach to mentor other team members.
  • Administers and communicates company policies, goals, strategies, and vision.
  • Facilitates quality systems, continuous process improvement, and safety initiatives in accordance with Lean thinking throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for advancing company metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale).
  • Develops, models, and coaches Lean applications.
  • Regularly reviews Lean performance expectations with leadership teams across the organization, providing expectations, performance planning, feedback, training & development and performance discussions.
  • Performs administrative duties commensurate with the requirements of the organization including data gathering, metrics, reports and newsletters.
  • Mentors, coaches and trains various levels throughout the company.

Work Environment:

  • Fast paced office setting connected to a warehouse environment.
  • Must becapable of multi-tasking and communicating with a variety of people and personalities.
  • The warehouse itself is a cold storage environment. Warehouse bays are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Noise level in the warehouse varies and at times and can be loud.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, Management, Lean Manufacturing or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of operations experience and/or Lean experience. Education may substitute for years of experience.

  • Safety & Security
  • Safety program experience and oversight
  • Business Management Skills
  • Planning - Strategic and/or Tactical - must have capabilities to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Quality Management System Knowledge
  • Travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Access, and Project
