The HR Generalist is a critical role to the success of the warehouse operation. You will administer policies relating to all phases of human resources activities in a busy 24/7 warehouse/distribution facility. Daily responsibilities include employee relations, benefits, payroll, recruiting and interviewing.

You are a natural at multi-tasking, organization and genuinely have a passion for meeting the needs of team members on a daily basis. In addition, you clearly exude a professional, positive attitude capable of dealing with basic as well as complex employment issues.


A business partner who will develop deep understanding of the business operations and apply human resource experiences to driving the business toward its goals. Understands legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Assists Human Resources Manager and General Manager in determining manpower needs. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Ensures that all paperwork such as insurance, 401k plan, personnel transactions such as new hire packet, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, discipline, and terminations are completed and correct documentation is maintained. Maintains and records employee information such as personal data. Maintains and records time and attendance for payroll processing. Assists with training activities within the facility. Advises management on appropriate resolution of employee relations/discipline issues. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Works with staff to assure compliance with Company Policy and procedures. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, etc. Helps investigate accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. Maintain facility organization charts. Maintain facility tracking reports. Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover. Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations. Assists HR Manager as a representative with temporary agencies. Helps negotiates terms of agreement and determines staffing needs and agency contact. Attends shift and staff meetings. Represents human resources in the warehouse and in the office. Maintains positive employee relations throughout the facility.

Work Environment:

Fast paced office setting connected to a cold storage warehouse environment. Must be capable of multi-tasking and communicating with a variety of people and personalities. The warehouse itself is a cold storage environment. Warehouse bays are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Noise level in the warehouse varies and at times and can be loud.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree

A minimum of three to five years' experience as an HR Generalist in a related supply-chain industry

Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one—on—one and small group situations to managers and employees of the organization

Disciplined self-starter capable of motivating others Common sense approach to business practices Strong work ethic that continually raises the bar

Ability to work alternate shifts when needed

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company policies, procedures and agreements

Ability to write reports, business correspondence

Experience conducting and resolving complex investigations

Experience with coaching and mentoring members of the Management team

Experience with resolving disputes between team members in the facility

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Bi-Lingual in Spanish

Experience with Ceridian payroll (Dayforce) and Workday HRIS
